Amy K. Anderson is a seasoned state and federal government affairs consultant supporting businesses in their workforce, education and healthcare efforts. Recently Amy served for ten years as the director of government affairs for the Association of Washington Business (AWB). In her role, she led initiatives in education, workforce development, health care, and federal issues. Before joining AWB’s government affairs team, Amy worked as a strategic consultant for the AWB Institute for nearly four years, leveraging over a decade of policy analysis and advocacy expertise.
Amy’s career began with policy roles at the Washington State Senate Health and Long-Term Care Committee and the Washington State Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. She later spent seven years leading policy and workforce development efforts at Greater Spokane Incorporated, the region’s chamber of commerce and economic development council, and also served as legislative director for Oregon and Alaska at Premera Blue Cross. In addition, she has taught graduate courses in health policy and law at Washington State University Spokane and Kaplan University.
Amy holds a law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, a graduate degree in Health Policy and Administration from Washington State University Spokane, a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. in Government and History from California State University Sacramento.
