Lobbyist Agent Picture

James began his lobbying career as a student lobbyist for Washington State University in 2001. Upon graduating with a degree in Political Science and a degree in Criminal Justice, James joined the Gordon Thomas Honeywell Government Affairs team. He led the firm's Washington State Lobbying efforts, and represented clients such as the Washington Association, the City of Tacoma, Tacoma Public Utilities, and more. Additionally, James led the firm's Association Management and Strategic Services Division, and served as Executive Director of the World Trade Center Tacoma, the Washington Highway Users Federation, the Law Enforcement Administrators of Washington and others.

James accepted an appointment as the Deputy Director of the Washington Association of county Officials in 2009, and took over as Executive Director in 2011. The Washington Association of County Officials is a non-profit association that represents the interest of the executive branch of county government in each of Washington's 39 counties.

In the fall of 2014, James resumed his representation of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs, now as the association's in-house Policy Director.
