Betty Buckley is the Executive Director of the Washington Independent Telecommunications Company which represents our state's rural landline telecommunications providers. Prior to taking this position in June of 2010 Betty was the Executive Director of Communities Connect, a statewide coalition of public and private organizations working to make Washington state a leader in technology opportunities for all. Betty also co-founded and directed Stone Soup, a nonprofit organization that worked to improve the lives of women through entrepreneurship and computer proficiency. Early in her career Betty spent thirteen years in executive management in state government. In 1991 Betty was awarded the Governor's Excellence in Management/Leadership for her efforts to improve staff diversity, employee involvement and customer service while reducing costs. Throughout her career Betty's duties included work with the state legislature.
Betty, her husband Gregg and their draft horses operate a ranch on the Colville Indian Reservation in northeastern Washington State.
