Bob Brett is a Washington State government expert with over 40 years of political, governmental and community service experience. His firm, Policy Solutions founded in 2007, lobbies the legislature and the executive branch to influence legislation and proposed agency rules. Mr. Brett is proactive in his government relations approach, relying on his ability to: communicate effectively, be persistent & determined. He offers strategic planning and a course of action customized to his clients’ unique situations. The firm seeks to educate legislators and decision makers offering value and dependability. For example, recently Bob Brett secured an impressive 55 House sponsors and 37 Senate sponsors for HB 1458/ SB 5444, the Eminent Domain Notice bill. This jointly requested legislation, by the Governor and the Attorney General, became law. Mr. Brett has since secured $7.1 million in the Capital Budget for the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust to increase access to outdoor recreational opportunities. These funds specifically went towards building hiking trails, providing kayak access to rivers, building family picnic areas, historic preservation and to acquire land along a 100 mile corridor along I-90 from Seattle to Ellensburg. Policy Solutions has also advocated on behalf of the Washington Landlord Association, lobbied for The Wallingford Community Senior Center for funding, worked to secure government contracts for Capitol Duct Cleaning and assisted in representing the Alliance of Auto Manufacturers, Sprint Nextel & others. Currently they have three clients: Dads Divorced By Their Wives working in regards to family law, First Pres Bellevue helping secure political asylum for a community of Rwandan in the Puget Sound region and making arrangements for Northwest University’s School of Nursing. Bob Brett has built up valuable legislative relationships over nearly 40 years of being involved in the community: Eight years on staff of the Senate & House, including as the Majority/ Minority Floor Leader’s Chief of Staff; Four years in the commercial construction industry including leading an important trade association in it’s governmental affairs efforts at the local, state & federal levels. Mr. Brett has been active with local Chambers of Commerce and promoted membership & free enterprise via the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He has served the community through his memberships in Rotary & Kiwanis. He currently serves on the advisory board of Northwest University’s Buntain School of Nursing, has served on the Lake Washington Schools Foundation board and on his local Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Bob Brett has provided leadership to the YMCA & the Boy Scouts of America. He is an Eagle Scout. Mr. Brett ran for a seat in the State House of Representatives twice, worked on the staff of a victorious US Senate candidate and has held numerous partisan political positions. He is a graduate of the University of Washington & The George Washington University. His studies included those in history, public affairs, government, public speaking and parliamentary procedure.
