Paula Swedeen is the Policy Director for Conservation Northwest. She has had this position since October 2017. Prior to that, Paula had her own consulting practice from 2008 to 2018 and worked with non-profits on conservation issues using biology, ecological economics and conflict resolution approaches to achieve long-term conservation of forests and wildlife in the Pacific Northwest. She worked as a wildlife biologists for Washington Department of Natural Resources and Department of Fish and Wildlife from 1994-2006. Paula has a B.S. in Biology from Indiana University, an M.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Western Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy with an emphasis on ecological economics from the Union Institute and University.
