Sam Hatzenbeler, the Health Policy Associate at the Economic Opportunity Institute, holds a Master of Public Health from the Community Oriented Public Health Practice program and a B.A. in Gender Studies, both from the University of Washington. Sam has a faculty appointment with the Department of Health Services, University of Washington, as a clinical instructor in the School of Public Health. Sam started her work with the Economic Opportunity Institute in 2014 as a Graduate Policy Intern and then transitioned serving as the Development Director until 2019. Prior to joining the EOI team, Sam worked as Program Evaluator at Entre Hermanos, Clinic Manager at Seattle Medical and Wellness Clinic, Community Organizer at Real Change Homeless Empowerment Project, and spent four years as a Women and Children’s Advocate at New Beginnings.
