Michael Zimmer

Mike Zimmer serves as a Senior Policy Advisor at World Education Services (WES). Prior to this, he served as the Cabinet Director of Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan. Prior to being named Cabinet Director, he was the Director for the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Immediately prior to being named Director, Zimmer served as the Chief Deputy Director of LARA. While serving as Chief Deputy, he also functioned as the Executive Director of the Michigan Administrative Hearing System. Zimmer also previously served as Deputy Director of the State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules and as Director of the Bureau of Hearings in the former Department of Consumer and Industry Services. Additionally, he served as the Director of the Office of Regulatory Reform under former Governor John Engler and worked for the Senate Majority Floor Leader. Zimmer earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University.
