Mr. Gent is a life-long resident of Washington state. He has lived, studied and worked in the Puget
Sound area since entering the University of Washington in 1977. As an undergraduate, Dave was
involved in original paving materials research and forensic pavement engineering as a research and
laboratory assistant to Dr. Ron Terrel and Dr. Joe Mahoney and he has remained employed in the
hot mix asphalt (HMA) industry all of his professional life.
